Framed Prints

It was time to do a change out of my prints at St. Elmo's Fire in Stittsville yesterday. I brought in four framed 8x10 graphite prints that I have here at my home studio. I love to try out new frames for my 'Art' as it can give it such a different feel. Framing is definitely a personal thing yet I think basic black for a graphite drawing is always striking, it helps to 'pop' the darkest tones. This piece sells for $50. If you get a chance stop in to St. Elmo's, it's such a funky little shop with great art and gifts.

Grandma's Knife - Graphite

I feel we need to honour our roots...where we come from. This knife belonged to my husband's Grandmother, Lola. She told us it was from her wedding set. The bone handle is a little worn but that's it's character. She was 99 when she passed, three months shy of 100. She gave this knife to my son as he loved going to see 'Big Grandma'.

'Swallowtail' - Graphite

I just love detail. He is pale yellow with red markings on his tail but I loved the lines and shapes on his wings.

Yep that's me. I love the snapshot in time. People have told me it is very Escher-esk. The original hangs in my kitchen.

'Harley '- Graphite

I love to work with detail, pencil lends itself well for this. This little fellow belonged to my sister and would lounge in the flower box at the back door...pretty cute!
